I’ve never been a particularly big fan of tiramisu. I suppose it could be that I’ve never had a really good one, but I’ve pretty much formed the opinion that tiramisu is an overrated dessert. That’s probably why I’ve had Highbrow Vapor’s Tiramisu e-liquid in my review box for several months now; I just didn’t feel that there was much of a reason for me to be excited about it. I finally got around to picking it up a few days ago because I was in the mood for another dessert e-liquid after trying Up in Vapor’s excellent Browned Blueberry flavor. As it turned out, Tiramisu is the best e-liquid I’ve tried from Highbrow Vapor to date, and I was missing out by waiting so long to review it.

Ah, dear readers, if you only knew what used to pass as a dessert e-liquid when I first switched to electronic cigarettes. E-liquid companies used to try to pass cough syrup off as cherry e-liquid, and the chocolate e-liquids — they tasted like some crusty, dry abomination left over from Valentine’s Day about ten years ago. Things have sure changed. Highbrow Vapor’s Tiramisu e-liquid contains natural flavor extracts of cocoa, coffee, vanilla and cream, with a bit of sucralose (Splenda) to sweeten the deal. I don’t see how any e-liquid could taste more positively edible than this one.

And yet, because of the bitter and slightly alcoholic coffee notes, your palate never feels like it’s being pounded with sweetness. The vapor from Highbrow Vapor’s Tiramisu e-liquid has a tendency to collect at the back of the throat when you exhale, and at that moment you could almost swear you’re drinking a real coffee liqueur. It’s a unique sensation that I’ve not experienced with another e-liquid.

The combination of sweet, bitter and savory notes — along with a full-bodied throat hit — makes Highbrow Vapor’s Tiramisu e-liquid really difficult to put down. I find the cocoa flavor in this e-liquid quite similar to that of Halo’s Belgian Cocoa e-liquid, so if you’ve tried that one and would like something with a little more complexity, Highbrow Vapor Tiramisu is an e-liquid you should try.
