I was reminiscing recently about how much I used to enjoy smoking a pipe. Although I hope that I might be able to resume smoking an occasional pipe or cigar at some point in the future, I wouldn’t want to do so now as I’m only a couple of years removed from cigarettes. Until then, I’m on the lookout for a good pipe tobacco e-liquid to add to my regular rotation, but I’m sad to say that Intellicig’s RiZe French Pipe e-liquid isn’t it.
I guess the French aren’t exactly known for their pipe tobacco, because when I search for the phrase “French pipe tobacco” the first result I get is for an e-liquid. The folks at the pipes.org forums don’t seem to have a particularly high opinion of French tobacco, either. So, I’m left wondering exactly what Intellicig’s French Pipe e-liquid should taste like. I know that it doesn’t taste like any pipe tobacco I have ever smoked. While the smell of the vapor is reminiscent of a traditional English pipe tobacco blend, that doesn’t seem to translate to the taste. I can taste something that’s probably supposed to resemble a spirit such as brandy, and I can also taste a tobacco flavor note, but the flavors don’t meld and the overall effect is well short of a realistic pipe tobacco flavor.
So, my search for a good pipe tobacco e-liquid continues. I’ve tried a couple that certainly had redeeming qualities — Mister-E-Liquid’s Grey Matter for its taste and Halo’s Captain Jack for its smell — but so far no e-liquid quite has quite had the whole pipe tobacco package. Intellicig’s RiZe French Pipe e-liquid is just strange, and if it didn’t have a name like French Pipe I’d be hard-pressed to even tell what it’s supposed to taste like. Not recommended.
