Safe Cig was recently kind enough to send me one of its Safe Cig Micro Packs as well as a small selection of refill cartomizers to review. I’m still working on my review of the Safe Cig starter kit, but in the meantime I thought I’d post my thoughts about the Trinidad flavor. Safe Cig advertises the flavor as a combination of “Caribbean leaf” balanced with mango and mild papaya. While my impression of the flavor is slightly different, I have been enjoying it and managed to go through the first three cartomizers in the pack rather quickly.

Upon testing the Safe Cig Trinidad cartomizer, my first impression was that it offers some really nice performance for such a little thing — it produces quite a bit more vapor than I have come to expect from a cartomizer the size of a cigarette filter. The quantity of vapor is also particularly remarkable in light of the fact that the e-liquid seems to be 100-percent PG — manufacturers usually mix in some PG to get this kind of vapor production.

Safe Cig does not sell its e-liquids in bottles and does not advise customers to refill their cartomizers. Unlike most cartomizers, these seem to have tips that are not designed for removal. I tried prying the tip off with my needle tip bottle cap and only succeeded in bending the needle. Although I’m certain it’s possible to force the tip off, there seems to be little benefit in doing so since you wouldn’t be able to refill it with the same e-liquid flavor.

I estimate that each of the Safe Cig Micro cartomizers holds about .7 ml of e-liquid. At the 18 mg strength — currently the only strength available — each cartomizer would have the equivalent nicotine of a little more than one half pack of light cigarettes. Safe Cig sells its cartomizers in packs of seven, so you’d get the equivalent of a little over four packs of cigarettes in each $16.95 box of cartomizers. In addition, all orders within the United States receive free shipping, with no minimum order total.

As for the flavor of the Safe Cig Trinidad cartomizer, I’m quite enjoying it. I’ve also been having fun switching occasionally from my Lavatube e-cig to something much smaller; I’ve carried it with me a few times on walks, and I also enjoy the sweet flavor of the Trinidad e-liquid as an after-dinner treat. As far as I’m concerned, though, Trinidad is essentially a mango e-liquid as I’m unable to taste any other flavor notes. Thankfully, I really like mango.
