Chrome Lavatube Now Available

Volcano has announced the immediate availability of the new chrome Lavatube e-cigarette. The Chrome Lavatube is available within the United States at a price of $79.99 for the body only or $109.99 for the full Lavatube kit. If you’ve never purchased from Volcano before, use the coupon code volcanoAFFC10 for a 10% discount.

While most e-smokers rave about the capabilities of the Lavatube, some have expressed concerns about its long-term durability because of the light aluminum used to construct the body and the plastic used to cap the ends. The chrome Lavatube is an attempt to alleviate these concerns by using what I understand is stainless steel with chrome plating along with two metal end caps. I have also read that the chrome Lavatube may have a higher over-current limit of 3.5 amps for high-voltage compatibility with dual-coil cartomizers — a feature that ProVape added to the ProVari V2 in 2012. I have asked Volcano for clarification on this and will update this post when I have more information.

Updates: Volcano has confirmed that the Chrome Lavatube does not have a higher over-current limit. It has the same 2.5-amp limit as the original Lavatube. The body is constructed from copper with chrome plating and weighs about six ounces with the battery.

I have also requested a review unit from Volcano. With any luck, you can expect to see my chrome Lavatube review soon.
